Currently police officers have to stop motorists at the side of
the road to show them the radar reading from their speed gun.
However, the new TruCam records the video of the car speeding as
well as recording the speed. This also means that the driver
won't know that they have been caught until they receive
documentation through the post.
The new camera, whilst being compact enough to be carried
on patrol is packed with new technology and data can be stored
on a memory stick.
Tele-Traffic, who are Britain's biggest supplier of law
enforcement equipment, said: "This new device collects more data
simultaneously than traditional cameras and all that evidence gives
the police much more chance of getting a conviction."
